Amelia: Still Life
I’m standing in the middle of my garden,
small and special,
like an ancient idol, hidden for centuries
by the luxuriant vegetation
which grew in the ruins
of a long-lost city.
The thick foliage moves like water,
self healing around me,
showing no traces of my passing through its world.
I feel immortal in this ephemeral, endlessly morphing state of nature, as I watch life replicate itself into eternity.
